LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Sedona civil rights lawsuits

To the Editor,

It’s hard to ignore what’s happening in Sedona right now. Between the lawsuits, the Police Chief trading complaints with the Mayor, the City Manager and Mayor sparring in public, it feels like the walls are finally closing in on a leadership team that has been corrupt for far too long.

These aren’t isolated missteps, they form a clear pattern of arrogance, secrecy, and misconduct that has now dragged the city into lawsuits likely to cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. Instead of funding roads, schools, or community services, that money will go toward cleaning up the mess created by the very people who were supposed to protect our community. And as harsh as it sounds, given the massive civil rights complaint now on the table, and based on my own experiences, it seems they may well deserve it.

The residents of Sedona deserve better. We deserve leaders who operate with transparency, honesty, and accountability, not those who treat public office like a private fiefdom. It’s time for the community to step up, demand change, and elect new leaders who will put Sedona first, not their own careers or egos.

The cracks are showing, and it’s time to rebuild with fresh voices, fair leadership, and real integrity.

Sincerely, John F.
